GoVision’s Final Four Legacy Continues

For over 15 years, GoVision has been a part of the legacy of March Madness. Back in 2009, GoVision was there for Tony Smith’s game winning shot in Detroit. This year was no different as our screens joined crowds in Glendale for historical moments such as Purdue’s first national championship game appearance in 55 years after their epic win against North Carolina State. Our amazing screens have delighted and dazzled basketball fans for years and the 2024 Final Four tournament was no different.

This year GoVision continued the legacy with our iconic center-hung hexagon screen. When fully assembled, the screen consisted of 900 LED panels. Our expertise in LED shined with this screen as it was designed to appear as though it was a permanent install within the State Farm Stadium venue which does not have a permanent center-hung screen of its own.  While working within the tight tournament installation timeline, the center-hung board absolutely added to the grandeur and excitement of the Final Four and allows the NCAA Final Four to maintain a consistent look across years of tournaments.

Tom Sadler, co-chair of the Phoenix Final Four Host committee, said “the center-hung scoreboard that is kind of like a halo over the basketball court and goes in at about the 50-yard line at midfield” about our center-hung screen on KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Arizona’s Morning News. This “halo” screen required new rigging in the roof but definitely added to the court experience as it has for every tournament in the past 15 years.

Returning as well was our courtside table constructed from 58 LED panels that feature all the score and play details as well as other graphics fans enjoy seeing during the game. This screen integrates a table where the scorekeepers and other game officials preside over this giant tournament. In 2021, the courtside table screen was visible behind Jalen Suggs as he took his historic buzzer beater shot.

GoVision’s final returning element was our 140-panel media backdrop positioned behind players and coaches for pre- and post-game press conferences where key tournament actions are detailed each day. Watchers would recognize this from behind Alabama team members and coaches as they discussed moments from their first ever Final Four appearance.

Along with our three returning screens, GoVision added a new set of screens to our Final Four lineup. This year, players entered the court between two runout towers of 25 panels each showing team logos and other custom graphics that welcomed players such as the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, Tristen Newton to the court for this year’s tournament. We hope to continue adding this new feature into our GoVision Final Four lineup for future tournaments.

Our experience and expertise truly shined during the 2024 Final Four as we continued to build upon our over 15-year legacy with the tournament.  From 2014’s surprising battle of unranked teams between UConn and Kentucky to Villanova’s historic buzzer beater win in 2016 and 2024’s back-to-back championship win for UConn, GoVision was there and will continue to be there for years to come.
