A Summer to Remember with the US Capital

Every year, our beautiful Capital holds a series of concerts for major holidays such as Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. There’s even one for Pride. This year, GoVision was lucky enough to partner in order to help continue on this honored tradition right on the National Mall. Crowds have come to these concerts for 30 years, filling DC from Capital Building to the Lincoln Memorial and so much more. Additionally, these concerts are broadcast on National Television.

GoVision was honored to return to the center of the United States to help not only the crowds there but those watching the broadcasts truly participate in the celebration. We had multiple screens near the stages and in the crowds so that all the celebrities and bands at each event could be seen and enjoyed by everyone.

This year’s Memorial Day concert featured performances and appearances from Trace Adkins, Yolanda Adams, The War and Treaty, Jack Everly, the National Symphony Orchestra, The US Navy Band Sea Chanters, The US Air Force Singing Sergeants, Phillip Phillips, and so many more all hosted by Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise. It was broadcast nationwide on PBS. The series also honors stories of American heroes such as Sergeant Anthony Oneal Magee, part of three generations of a military Gold Star Family. The stories told in celebration are an amazing and heartfelt part of this day and celebrating those the holiday is for.

For the Capital Fourth was also broadcast on PBS and had Alfonso Ribeiro as host. It featured performances from Boyz II Men, Chicago, Belinda Carlisle, The Muppets, the Northwell Nurse Choir, Patrick Lundy and the Ministers of Music, The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own”, and a continued list of enjoyable shows to celebrate our Nation’s independence. This is one of the most attended events in the United States Capital every year.

GoVision also participated in Capital Pride, adding screens to the festival and concerts. We were honored to help host performers such as Monet X Change, Haley Kiyoko, The Gay Men’s Chorus of DC, Idina Menzel, and Ella Fitzgerald. We also got to help Mr. Capital Pride, Xavier Sterling, and Miss Capital Pride, Frieda Poussay, enjoy their moment in the spotlight. This event tells the story of the LGBTQ+ community in America and has been celebrated in Washington DC since 1972.

The Capital Concerts are a grand tradition that GoVision feels amazed to have been a part of. We have loved our connection with DC and celebrating America through multiple inaugurations and now with the Capital Concerts. We hope to see these amazing crowds amongst the music and fireworks for years to come.
